Why OX2 Labs exists
This journal starts with the thing every other entry will build on: why OX2 Labs exists at all.
The knowledge gap
Most health problems are not weakness. They are decisions made without knowledge. Your digestion is off, your energy dips at 3pm, your weight drifts, and the honest reason is rarely that you do not care. It is that the knowledge needed to decide well lives in textbooks, labs, and other people's professions. As humans we get one or two domains deep in a lifetime. The body does not wait for us to catch up.
That gap is now closable. Thousands of years of trial and error, the latest research, the reasoning to apply it to your specific day: all of it can run on the phone already in your pocket, even offline. Not a generic coach. An instrument that has actually been paying attention to you.
What we build
Instruments that know your body better than you do, so you can think less and decide better.
- Itera reads your meals from photos: calories, macros, micros, fiber. Then it starts noticing what your body keeps asking for. The longer you use it, the sharper it gets.
- Runnie takes a person from first walk to first 5K in eight weeks, with sessions that adapt to the day you are actually having, not the plan written a week ago.
- Two more instruments are in the lab, in communication and relationships, and in mental wellness and life satisfaction. They do not have names yet.
The posture
A few commitments that shape every product decision here:
- Everybody is exceptional. Everybody is born that way. Software should act like it.
- No pressure, no manipulation, no one left lost. People often arrive frustrated, worried about their health or how they look. The job is relief, not another source of guilt.
- Speak the user's language. A shoemaker and a researcher deserve the same quality of explanation, delivered differently.
- The aesthetic is cutting edge and a little mysterious, because the work is early. There is always an acceptance curve.
Why a public journal
From now on, working sessions, product decisions, and the thinking behind them get logged here as field notes. Partly for visibility: if you want to know what OX2 Labs is working on, this page is the answer. Partly for discipline: writing down where the time goes keeps the time honest. And partly because the vision conversations that happen on walks tend to evaporate, and they are the most valuable material we have. This is where they compound.
The path of the universe is evolution. OX2 Labs follows it.
