PokePal Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Introduction

PokePal ("we", "our", or "us") is a GLP-1 medication tracking application developed by OX2 Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Your privacy matters. PokePal does not provide medical advice. We do not sell your data, show advertisements, or share your health information with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

What PokePal Does

PokePal helps you log your GLP-1 medication shots (such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Trulicity, Saxenda, and other compounded or generic equivalents), schedule dose reminders, and observe your weight cycle over time. It is a tracking tool, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address (via Apple Sign-In).
  • Shot Logs: The medication you take, dose amount, time injected, injection site, perceived pain, side effects, and any honest-thought notes you record.
  • Weight Entries: Weight values you enter manually or that we read from Apple HealthKit (with your permission), used to render your cycle trend.
  • Reminder Schedules: Dose reminder days and times you configure. Local notifications are scheduled on-device by iOS.
  • Voice Notes: Audio is processed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Only the resulting transcribed text is saved with your shot log. The original audio is never uploaded to our servers.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and optimization.

Voice Transcription

PokePal uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (SFSpeechRecognizer) to transcribe voice notes into text. Audio is processed locally on your device whenever possible. Only the final text transcript is saved with your shot log; the original audio recording is discarded as soon as transcription finishes. We do not store, transmit, or analyze your voice recordings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Save your shot logs, reminders, weight entries, and side-effect history
  • Sync your data across your devices through our secure backend
  • Calculate your dose cycle, streaks, and weight trend
  • Surface your next-shot reminder and rotation suggestions
  • Send local notifications you have explicitly configured (no remote marketing pushes)
  • Respond to your questions and support requests

Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your shot logs and reminders are stored locally on your device for offline access.
  • Cloud Sync: Shot, weight, and side-effect data is synced to secure cloud servers (powered by Supabase) using encrypted connections.
  • Encryption: All data transfers use TLS/SSL encryption.
  • Access Control: Your data is protected by Row-Level Security policies ensuring only you can access your information.

Apple HealthKit

If you grant permission, PokePal reads your weight from Apple HealthKit to anchor your weight cycle and trend chart. We do not write any data to HealthKit. HealthKit data is never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or stored on our servers beyond what is needed to render your in-app trend. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Notifications

PokePal uses local notifications (scheduled and delivered entirely on your device) to remind you about upcoming shots. Push notifications via Apple Push Notification service may also be used for cross-device sync notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not display ads. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate the app: cloud hosting via Supabase, authentication via Apple Sign-In, and Apple Push Notification service.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly choose to share or export your data.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information directly in the app.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Export: Request an export of your shot, weight, and reminder history.
  • Opt-out: Disable notifications, HealthKit access, and microphone access via iOS Settings.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us, after which we will permanently remove your records from our servers within 30 days.

Medical Disclaimer

PokePal is a personal tracking tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for consultation with a licensed healthcare provider. Always follow the instructions provided by your prescriber and the official medication guide. PokePal does not verify the correctness of dose amounts, injection sites, or schedules.

Children's Privacy

PokePal is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
