Runnie Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026

Introduction

Runnie ("we", "our", or "us") is a running app for iPhone developed by OX2 Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use Runnie.

Your privacy matters. Runnie does not show advertisements, does not track you for advertising, and does not share your data with data brokers or third-party advertisers. Run data lives on your device; it only leaves the device if you sign in with Apple and only then to preserve your workouts across reinstalls.

What Runnie does

Runnie is an 8-week walking-to-5K running program with a clean run tracker. It guides you through structured intervals, records your runs (distance, pace, route, elevation, calories, heart rate), and optionally writes completed workouts to Apple Health.

Information we collect

We collect information that you provide and that the app records during use:

  • Account information. If you tap Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-issued user identifier, your name (if you choose to share it), and an email address (which may be a private Apple relay address you control). If you tap "Continue without signing in," no account is created and we receive nothing.
  • Run data. Distance, pace, splits, elevation, calories, GPS route geometry, heart rate (if HealthKit is authorized), and step counts. Recorded while you use the app.
  • Program progress. Which Couch-to-5K sessions you have completed and your current week / day.
  • Device information. Device model, OS version, and app version, used for diagnostics if you contact support.

How we use your information

  • Display your runs, splits, pace, route, and program progress.
  • Sync your run history across your devices and restore it after reinstalls — only if you have signed in with Apple. Sync uses Supabase as the storage provider, accessed exclusively by you via your Apple-issued identifier.
  • Calculate streaks, weekly totals, and milestones.
  • Respond to support requests.

App Tracking Transparency

Runnie does not track you. We do not link the data Runnie collects with data from other companies for advertising purposes, and we do not share the data with data brokers. Because we do not track, Runnie does not display the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission prompt.

Apple HealthKit

If you grant permission, Runnie reads heart rate during a run to display it live in your stats and writes completed workouts back to Apple Health so your running shows up alongside the rest of your activity. HealthKit data is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never leaves your device through Runnie's servers. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Location

Runnie uses your location while a run is active to record your route, pace, and distance. Location is requested only while the app is in use and during background workouts when you start a run. We do not retain raw location data outside of your own run records, and we never sell or share it.

If GPS is unavailable (or you decline permission), Runnie falls back to step counting via the device pedometer and still tracks your workout. The pedometer data also never leaves the device except as part of your synced run record.

Data storage and security

  • On-device. Run records, program progress, and session events are stored locally on your device.
  • Cloud sync. If you are signed in with Apple, run records sync to Supabase over TLS. Row-Level Security policies ensure only you, authenticated as yourself, can read your data.
  • Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, encrypted by the system.

Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not display ads. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. Cloud hosting via Supabase (for sync) and authentication via Apple Sign-In. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal requirements. When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
  • With your consent. When you explicitly choose to share or export your data.

Your rights and choices

  • Use without signing in. Tap "Continue without signing in" on the auth screen. No account is created and nothing is synced — Runnie still works as a full run tracker locally.
  • Sign out. From the Account screen at any time. Local run data remains on your device.
  • Deletion. Email dimabaranov98@gmail.com to request deletion of your synced data. We process deletion requests within 7 days.
  • Permissions. Revoke HealthKit, Location, and Motion access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

Data retention

We retain your synced data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time, after which we will permanently remove your records from our servers within 7 days.

Children's privacy

Runnie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date.
